Report on Adaklu Dawanu Afterschool Program

We give gratitude to the Lord Almighty for guiding us safely through the vacation and bringing us back to school. As always, the After School Program has resumed and is in full swing. MONDAY On Monday, 19th January, 2026, the after-school program session was held at Dawanu S/A Basic School. The program began at 3:00 PM and ended at 4:50 PM, with learners divided into two (2) level.

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT AT THE UPPER LEVEL
The program began with a prayer, though only a few learners attended. Afterward, we welcomed each other back to the new term and year. Together, the learners set rules such as: no eating during sessions, listen carefully to instructions, avoid insults, respect each other’s opinions, and don’t leave the program halfway.
Next, we did a recap where learners shared what they had learned and taken home, mostly in the local language, Ewe. After that, I explained the weekly schedule: English on Mondays, Mathematics on Tuesdays, and assessments for both subjects on Wednesdays.

WEDNESDAY
On Wednesday, 21st January, 2026, the after-school program at Dawanu S/A Basic School was in session, running from 2:40 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. with learners actively participating in their levels.

ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT AT THE UPPER LEVEL
On Wednesday, we continued the previous activity, but this time, learners had to give either the synonym or meaning of the words they formed. Each group (boys and girls) created 10 new words, different from Tuesday’s. Some words were spelled incorrectly, but corrections were made within the groups. The day’s activity was called “Justify Your Inclusion”, where the girls confidently proved that their win was valid and not the boys’.
